Summer Star, registered Rheinland Pfalz-Saar, foaled July 2006.  15.3h now, should mature to around 16.2h  Chestnut with blaze, diagonal high stockings.

Summer is out of the Trakehner mare Starburst who is by Unkenruf.  Unkenruf was a Grand Prix stallion who was competed in Germany by Herbert Rehbein, and then in the U.S. by George Williams.  He can be found in the dam line of both Don Schufro and Don Primero, two of the top producing stallions in Europe.  Unkenruf was known, in addition to his talent, for his wonderful temperament and work ethic.  Starburst's dam line is equally impressive.

Summer's sire, Sodalis, is by Carol Lavell's former horse Symbol.  He was twice ranked number one in the US, and was in training for the Pan American Games when he was injured.  Symbol was know for producing strong, sound horses with intelligence, boldness, and a love of work.  They tend to be horses suitable for both amateurs and professionals.  The Symbol line produces very strong top lines and powerful hindquarters.  Sodalis was competing at third level and schooling fourth when he was injured.  In addition to talent in dressage, he received his highest score in his stallion testing in free jumping with an 8.  All of his offspring have proven to be naturally talented jumpers.

Summer is a very elegant mare -beautiful face - a lot of presence!  She is sane, brave, and very focused.  She has a lot of cadence, suspension, and elasticity and works with her hocks well under her at all times.  She has an obvious ability to lower her haunches and lift in front.  As a result she has definite FEI potential, both physically and mentally.  She is very mature for her age, and will be started under saddle in the spring if she hasn't sold.  She is presently doing ground work.

These were taken at her inspection when she was six weeks old

Satiya, registered Rheinland Pfalz-Saar, foaled July 2008  Should mature to around 16.1h  Dark bay with narrow blaze

Satiya is out of the TB mare Quilted Crystal, who is bred almost identically to Prince Thatch, one of the top ten producers of dressage horses in Europe at the time of his death.  She has produced four other foals who are all wonderful athletes with both dressage and jumping talent.  Her foals always start out small and then mature much taller than we expected, so the estimate of 16.1 for Satiya could be conservative.  Crystal was scored one point short of premium by the RPSI inspector, and his comment was "This is the kind of Thoroughbred mare we want in our warmblood breeding programs."

Satiya's sire, Sodalis, is by Carol Lavell's former horse Symbol.

Satiya was presented at her inspection at the age of only six weeks, and she impressed everyone by her calm and confident attitude, even though she was by far the youngest foal there.  The inspector commented that " This filly moves very, very uphill in both trot and canter.  She will be a premium mare."  Satiya is very calm and quiet, but bold and unafraid.  Although she carries a lot of Thoroughbred blood she is one of the quietest foals I've ever raised.  She happily does whatever is asked of her, and should get along well with anyone.
