QUESTIONS ASKED EQUESTRIANS:

1.What breed(s) of horse(s) do you have?

2. What is your favorite breed?

What did they say?

1) a GOV Oldenberg and a Dutch Warmblood.

2)I don't have a specific favorite breed.  I think there are fabulous horses within several breeds.  Angel Ozer

1) Mustang, Dutch [KWPN] Hanoverian and Westphalian.

2) I find I have favorite lines rather than favorite breeds. Florestan,[Westphalian],  Wolkenstein 11 [Hanoverian],  Juventus, Ferro, Democrat, Flemmingh [KWPN] all seem to throw that "can do and love doing it" dressage temperament that makes training a joy and Grand Prix a reality.

Sarah Martin

1) We have various warmbloods (Dutch, Rheinland Pfalz- Saar, Oldenburg, and Trakehner), Thoroughbreds, and an Appaloosa. 2) My favorite is any good athlete with a brain, but I do have a soft spot in my heart for Appys and TBs.  I like my warmbloods to be at least 1/4 TB.    Elaine Cornell

1.)  3 Morgans, a 1/2 morgan mule and 2 donkeys  2.  Morgan    Lisa Bryant

1) Currently I own two horses, a Lipizzan stallion and a (AQHA) Quarter Horse mare, but I’ve owned several different breeds in the past including warmbloods and thoroughbreds. 2) I do not have a favorite breed as I look at horses as individuals and take into consideration the qualities that make up a particular horse.   There are certain breeds that possess certain qualities that make them more suitable for a particular discipline but I still look more at the individual horse and less at the breed.  The main qualities that I look for are (1) temperament – does the horse have a generous, willing attitude, (2) conformation – is the horse built to do the job that I’m asking, (3) athleticism – is the horse an athlete with 3 good gaits, good flexibility and suppleness, and (4) soundness – is the horse healthy and sound.   Maribeth Wells

1) Breeds that I have: American Saddlebred; paint; miniatures,Holsteiner; multiple other warmblood flavors (Trakehner, Hanoverian; Canadian)  2) My favorite breed has to be the saddlebred  Bev McLean Tetrick

1: DW, TB and Hannoverian   2: Hannoverian  Maria Riva

Which breeches do you prefer: Full Seat, knee patches or doesn't matter?

 What did they say?

Leslie Chafin: Knee Patches

Candy Nuss: Full Seat

Angel Ozer: Full seat, real leather.

Maria Riva: Doesn't matter.

Jocy Prochaska:

Cross-country = full seat, daily riding = knee patches.

I don't like to be stuck to the saddle! However, my husband prefers full seat, and I don't think it has anything to do with riding!

Marie Maloney: Full Seat. I need all the help I can get!

Sue Clarke: Knee patches

Vickie Sharp: Full Seat

Sue Sjogren: Knee Patches
